Getting a
Private Pilots license can be a very rewarding experience.
This is your first step to learning to fly and becoming a pilot
in most cases.
Once you get your Private Pilot license you are a licensed pilot
for life.
There are requirements to maintain currency so you can fly but once you get the Private Pilot License, it is yours. This is one thing you want to remember when you start you Private Pilot Flight Training. |
Aircraft Ratings. The first Private Pilot Rating is the single engine rating. This means you can fly airplanes with a single engine. You Can add a multi engine rating on after. In Some Rare cases people can get a multi engine rating first if you can get the airplane insured for student pilot flights. Now this is pretty much impossible.
Aircraft To Fly: The airplanes you can fly as a private pilot will range from small light sport pilot planes up to heavier single engine planes including warbirds if you can pay for the insurance. In most case you will start off with a Cessna or Piper airplane. Most of these planes will have two to four seats and travel around 100 Knots.
Private Pilot Cost Depending on where you are in the country the cost may vary. The amount you spend could range from $6,000 to $12,000. One thing you need to do is plan out your training before you start. If you don't you could end up spending thousands more than you thought.
Private Pilot Requirements In General the private pilot license requirements is 40 hours total 20 hours with a flight instructor and 10 hours solo. This is a general requirement just for hour requirements. The national average is somewhere around 65 hours. Much of that difference is people who start and stop throughout your training
Private Pilot Course: I have made up a very informational 10 day E-course Explaining the entire process from start to finish. This will start with the cost to become a Private Pilot and explain the entire process
Hope to See You in the Sky
